Lexapro?

Postby gillabug » Mon Oct 03, 2011 1:03 pm

does anyone have any info on lexapro? I have been on it for years. ( 20 mg ) I think it is contributing to me not giving a shit about anything.. so I am in the the process of weaning off of it.. I went ct a few times simply b/c I ran out, and it was bad.. :banghead:

Any news on lex would be greatly appreciated.. :pash:

me too...gilla....taper very slowly in the end......switching to Celexa the generic is cheaper....I got down to 2.5 lex last year, got impatient and jumped....the only thing it did was whack out my seratonin....so I ate carbs and a shitload of them...CRAVING more seratonin. Since I was a type two diabetic at the time....I got back on 3 days later because my blood sugar went nuts....I'm not tapering now...because of oxy detox, but will start soon.....I hate the shit. :banghead:

I wish I knew how I was going to feel.....but I only made it those 3-4 days. :gaah:

i asked my dr last visit if i could try trazadone again.. she agreed. she gave me the 150 mg that you adjust your own dose.. it's breakable into 50mg pieces.. I am down to 5mg of lexapro per night and last night I said f it and took the whole 150 traz.. not a piece.. slept better than I have slept in months. think I will do the same tonight.

I hate how lexapro makes me feel.. like a zombie.. like I just dont give a shit about anything.. I hate that feeling.. Hell, I'd rather be depressed.. i think...

omg.. Lexapro is evil!! I never realized how much so! I weaned off of it and was free from it a whole week.. I was a different person. I wanted to get out of the house, and even cleaned up more than I usually do.. BUT, I could not sleep. So Sunday night I took 5mg. Slept like a baby but felt like shit all day Monday.. So last night I only took a crumb.. Was up and down a lot.

Does anyone know what a proper taper and completely off would be?? I want OFF this crap ASAP.. I got a taste of what it feels like NOT to be on it! I took 20mg for over four years!

The only way I know is to go on prozac which has the longest half life of the a/ds and stay on that for a few months and then just stop taking it... I have NEVER had any bad w/d from prozac!!

I just started taking prozac again 6 weeks ago, and it was giving me anxiety BUT I was feeling better so now I am going back on zoloft which I was on for 7 years, ugh!!! I went off of them in 08 for a couple of years until I went off of the neurontin and wanted to kill myself so I went back on prozac.. had a great summer last year when I was on it. BUT now this year has been shit cuz I went off of it again. :gaah: so I think I just have to be on a crazy pill FOREVER!!!

Bug....I'm going to start tapering my lex/celexa this coming spring.....I've had NO trouble getting down to 2.5 of lex...or the equivelent of celexa....

It's always the last week of 2.5...then it seems like I can't get the shit to a smaller dose. I jumped last spring off 2.5 and it wasn't enough taper...I began to EAT carbs like fuckin crazy to get the serotonin. Three days of that like to sent me to the ER in a diabetic coma.

I learned that I should have followed meems' advice and gotten some prozac.

thanks girls.. I go to my dr. next week..Maybe she will give me a few prozac.. I am doing wonderful with the trazadone.. It just hit me one day, maybe this damn lexapro is making me feel bad.. So I tapered.. Not a good one either.. I went down to 10 mg and felt nothing.. 5mgs.. Ok. Then I just jumped off. I felt wonderful for about a week. Better than I had in a year. But then the crying jags and the insomnia kicked in. I never realized how much the lexapro helped me with sleep. So Sunday night I took 5 mg.. Felt like shit all day Monday.. Very lethargic and so unmotivated.. So Monday and Tuesday night I took maybe 2 mgs.. Tonight nothing. So we'll see.. I never knew lexapro was so hard to get off of.. My DIL went through hell getting off paxil one time.. I never took that one, thank God!

I was on Lexapro for a few months...10 mg once a day - which my doc said was a pediatric dose. I had a Hell of a time getting to sleep every night and laid there wide awake for 3 hours before I drifted off. I was given it for anxiety but I don't see how it was supposed to help with that. It also made my hands shaky. One day I just said "fuck this...no more!!" and I stopped taking it. No WD's whatsoever - thankfully.
If I could go back and do it all over again...I wouldn't

Zoloft made my hands shake real bad.. You were smart to get off of it when you did! (the lexapro)

My girlfriend has gone on and off of Lex a couple of time, she says she feels like shit for a week and then it's over!!

I am just staying on the crazy pills forEVER!!! I think after being on them for 7 years straight it gave me brain damage and my brain can't function without them..

I actually found a post on the net about a chic that got brain lesions after taking prozac, lol.. I have those so fuckit.. I just want to have some damn happiness in my life. :D
