BUSPAR...any thoughts?

Postby Justjules13 » Sun Feb 24, 2013 9:12 am

I have a really old bottle of Buspar. I'm wondering if I should start taking it a couple weeks before my next attempt at sub detox. Has anyone tried Buspar to help with anxiety during WD? Dosage? I took it a million yrs ago with Prozac and Trazadone and never noticed anything from it.....but it might help in WD? Just wondering if anyone else has tried it.
I'm hoping to get Nerontin....that helped me more than anything else in WD. Ok....thanks folks!
I've got 155 15mg pills. Five months worth, if I take 15 mg a day...

Jules

I took Buspar a few years ago but had to stop as i had stomach problems from it, I wasn't on it long enough to notice if it helped. How old is it?

True just posted about starting Buspar with lexapro..usually it's used with an AD. Maybe True can let you know if it is helping.

It's REALLY old....ten years... . But most meds don't change alot and expiration dates are bogus most of the time.(except liquid meds that can separate)
I just read a interesting study on mixing Busbar with melatonin....it's used for major depression. I've got no health insurance, so I got to kinda work with what I got.
Looks like my next jump date will be around April 10th....I'm trying to get my ducks in a row. I know what to expect. I get severe anxiety and depression. The physical stuff isn't that bad......except I get really bad burning skin and my hands and legs really tremble. The Nerontin helps the burning skin...and I think I can find some.(seems everyone has a old bottle somewhere) The trembling is just imbarrising...I look like a frigen Parkinson's patient in detox.. :wtf:
Thanks Em!

No...not at all Dawn.
I just refuse to post a "recovery" thread to have Owen shit all over it and tell me I'm too old to get off opiates. He's a major tool!

it's been a while since I used Buspar, and it was exclusively as an adjunct to Zolift as an anxiolytic.

it worked. taken with an SSRI there was some powerful synergism. the downside is it only lasted about 90 days then just quit working. it was a great short term anxiety. supplement.

I wàs not withdrawing from other meds tho so I can't speak to that. I just know taken as an adjunct it made me "Mr social". it reversed many fortunes for me.

however it did wear off around 90 days. Bam. it just ended. Buspar is a strange med - please research it before committing. I didn't find it harmful, but I wasn't trying to mitigate withdrawal. good luck!
