Methadone?

Postby RamptonNugget-Beast » Thu Oct 16, 2014 10:27 am

When you start methadone maintainance I presume you feel some BUZZZ at the beginning...first day or two but after?

I've read different things in different places with different motives.

From the antelope's nostriles - once you are on it, any buzz or is it just numbsville?

If you HAD to take one or the other, which would you choose and why?

Are there any benefits of one over the other? No discussion about the
difference in WITHDRAWALS necessesary, JUST the normal day-two-day.

Walk out in traffic instead...that's a better idea.
Methadone is usually a life sentence...it makes sub WD look like a walk in the park.
You get a buzz at first...but it quickly goes away to be replaced with added pounds and tooth decay.
I was held hostage over 12 yrs...Cheeps over a decade too...
Have you been following Dee and Pips threads, and the hell they went thru tapering meth?

Thank you for your kind reply mistress vixen.

A slight deficiency of requested information (and overkill of specifically NON-REQUESTED information). :banghead:

I will read the recommended posts though,

Many thanks.

Ok....if I had to choose...for life, methadone. Only because it sucks a little less hard than sub, but I'd expect to be hooked up for life...
Get yourself some Kratom or something Beast...you sound fiending.

Dearest Daffy, it is apparently you are still struggling with the preoccupation of some kind of opiate, are you thinking you may get back on maintenance indefinitely?

Any euphoria from methadone will be relative to a persons history. If you have some time completely free from full agonists it will probably feel pretty nice for a few days or weeks. If you're inducted or transitioned from dope or oxy it will be much less so.

In either circumstance if used long term you will become it's bitch, an enslaved zombie, like sub but worse.

And if I had to pick one or the other I would personally pick sub because it has less of the "lifer" stigma (though its still earning it's reputation...) and because methadone can be just plain dangerous in the ever increasing doses you eventually require and respiratory depression when mixed with pretty much anything.
July 6, 2007: began sub maintenance @ 16mg
2008-2014: lost in the fog
August 8, 2014: last dose ever of subutex @ .5mg

That's very weird...I can't PM you beast. Says "members messages have been disabled" or some such rubbish...
Anyway...If you go to the Methadone sucks part of this forum Pips thread is the second one after this one. It's called "tapering methadone".
Really....if your struggling, methadone is not the answer. It's usually a life sentence. Have you tried lopermide to take the edge off?
