The story of cheeps _ Oxy detox using sub.

Heroin, Pain Pills, Methadone are all opioids (aka opiates) and it just plain sucks or feels impossible to get off of any of them. Share about stopping, detox, or the desire to stop any of these.

Cool you guys resurrected this thread; people NEED to see this, and when it's at the top-ish, it's definitely EASIER for new(er) people to find!!

Jesus .....what a ride this has been. Last post was 5/2015...got off the oxy but they used way too much sub....I talked them out of the max amount....should have spit all that shit out because it was too much...they watched us though.

So yes, I got off the oxy for several months. But...last August my fibro went nuts and my back surgery area broke down.....sciatica started up with vengeance. I put myself back into pain management...before I did that, I worked out in a heated therapy pool, went thru a long course of PT, got several massages....it helped but not as much as I hoped.

I got back on the opiate wagon in late September but my insurance would pay for three items only.

I had to pick the lessor of the evils. The one I got works well for the pain and I don't feel a buzz ever. Even if I load up, there is no buzz. Ins wouldn't pay for oxy because of expense.

Generic oxy ER (oxycontin) was banned back in 2013 so they have a very stiff price on what they have out now.
U.S. health regulators announced that they will not approve any generic versions of the original form of the pain medication OxyContin.

Oxycodone hydrochloride is the chemical name of the drug, which is sold under the brandname OxyContin. Without competition from generics, the price of the painkiller is not likely to decrease.

Anyhow....I've not put it out here that I'm back in Pain Management until today. Why> Well...it's confusing to tell someone that opiates are evil when you are using them. But....to me honesty is the best policy. I feel like it's time to fess up....I have a very hard time working and living with too much pain. Ive tried for many years. Always detoxing after surgeries....relying on motrin and lyrica. I've been able to do it until last fall.

Chronic pain has no test, no thermometer, no scale. The smiley face chart is a fucking hoot!! Ive even snatched one off the wall, wadded it up and thrown it in for 2 points. Trashcan basketball is all its good for. :punchballs:

I am chained the dr once again. It sucks.

I encourage everyone considering PM to get in a pool, buy an invert chair, go to the chiro/massage people, do accupincture, several rounds of PT, daily exercise, anti-inflammatory supplements...all the things that you can think of before you chain yourself in Pain Management.

Will I stay on opiates? I don't want to but we shall see. Right now, they are helping. Do I abuse them? No, it's pointless.

Hey cheeps. I'm really sorry to hear that you had to go back to PM, but I suppose you have to do what is best for you, ultimately. That's good that you feel that you are able to take opiates without abusing. Before I even read your most recent post in this thread, I started at the first page since I noticed it was bumped to the top. I never knew your full "story". Seems like you've been through a hell of a ride. Sorry to hear.

Well, the good thing is, you've got knowledge and experience under your belt. While I know that doesn't guarantee anything, I do think it helps when compared to those who are naive about what they are getting into exactly.

As I mentioned several times, I was rear ended pretty good two weeks ago (today). I was referred to a PM doc for the 1st time in almost 4 years (not including my "addiction specialist" sub-doc - what a joke). Anyway, when the physician asked, "is there anything specific that you would like for the pain", I'd be lying if OXY IRs wasn't the first thought that came to my mind. Fortunately, I was smart enough NOT to allow those words to come out of my mouth, because I have no doubt that I would end up abusing them.

I hope that this works for you, and that you can find some relief without the trouble that can come along with it. I'd think that the majority, if not all, would admire you being forthright about your current situation. No shame in that. Best of luck to you.

My story is very disjointed on this thread....some of the time I felt too Shitty to post, other times I posted in someone else's thread. Last time I had a jump buddy so I posted in his thread more than mine. My methadone jump is on another forum...One we call ODR. They are very 12 step. Ratch was a huge influence there. But they censor everything and last I looked, very little activity.

Cheeps,

I am new on here, and my brother referred me to this forum and told me a little about your story. I have to say brother, I have so much respect for you and I pray that God continues to make it easy for you to stay sober and on track to Success. I have been battling an oxy addiction for about 4 years now, and I can tell you it's been the hardest battle I've ever fought my entire life. Off and on, ups and downs, fights with your family, I hurt them so much and I have baby sisters that look up to me, so it would mean the world to me to get off this crap ASAP...

I just started seeing an Addiction Specialist, my Dr. is an MD and has SO MUCH credentials. He's even a practicing lawyer too. But he was actually a family friend, and my parents tried everything to get me off oxys (I eve. n got into black tar for a little while bc it was cheaper and got u jst as high if not higher, i would just smoke it tho never slam) and I even have a medical marijuana card also. So i started seeing this doctor, and at first i was hesitant but i had no other choice, i needed to get my life back on track. So he gave me 3 8mg suboxone tabs and i see him in a couple days for more, we're just starting this whole treatment and he wants me on counsling also, check in with him every week (co pay sucks i have to pay 30 every visit) on top of the subs themselves. I went to the pharmacy today and got my three tabs, but haven't started taking them yet. i just railed my last two perc blue 30's and i want to wait until i am in withdrawals, oxys are easy to get for me cs i have ppl who get entire scripts. so i am just wondering how long am i going to be on subs, if it helps i would like to be on them for a few months, any advice for this rookie right here? I appreciate you and thank you so much in advance.

Grat night :D

Man....you need to use the sub for detox only....you don't need a sub habit. I hope you come back and read this. I have been out of town and just got back. Those three tabs are all you need to get off the oxy....it's hard but it just Sint that bad using the sub correctly.

Only use 2mgs the first day, then 1mg, then 1mg, then .75mg, then .75, then .5 for two days then stop. But since I've been Mia, you may have already started. Let me know.

Sub for over 10 days is addicting as hell. Your brain will want it. Less is more...it is very strong...VERY.

your the best cheeps. congrats on peace of mind. nice..

for most short term sub is to easy if used right and could easily be abused till to difficult/ignorance. i love believing there is a choice. the question is when, and how much hardship till then.

you will do it. i just hope you live to see it. myself included. good luck/knowledge peace.

thanks cheeps,

i think worrying is what got most of us in this mess in the first place. i worry more and pretend to worry less. i know i cant plan/control everything to a positive favor, but i can try. as long as i dont use failure as an excuse for lazyness.

thanks. peace.

Does not the uncertainty of our time teach us the most important lesson of all—that the ultimate criteria are the honesty, integrity, courage and love of a given moment of relatedness? If we do not have that, we are not building for the future anyway; if we do have it, we can trust the future to itself. ~Rollo May~

Cheeps, just read your thread. How are you getting on with pain management? One thing in your favour is the fact you don't abuse opioids, just use them for pain. Still a bitch to kick but the psychological aspect won't be nearly as bad.

Hey fuckthis, I have detoxed SAOs  8-) many times...most of my time I spent in other people's threads so mine is very disjointed.

I think I'll suffer the mental because the last time I quit, I was at a rehab and they had a protocol that had to be followed. They used sub and if you objected they would threaten you. Honest to god, and I'm atheist.

Long story short, I believe if you use sub at high doses, and I mean higher than 2mgs...you will always have some mental shit. Just my experience though...
