What happens when you jump off 300 mgs Oxy? Or sub....

Heroin, Pain Pills, Methadone are all opioids (aka opiates) and it just plain sucks or feels impossible to get off of any of them. Share about stopping, detox, or the desire to stop any of these.

Mojo...this weekend I caved. I'm not sure what is happening...I mean...I knew I would have detox back pain...I've had it before but something new has happened to my neck, possibly at the C3-4 area and my last lower back MRI showed a slipped disc at L5-S1. These two area are on fire...I'm no t going to describe it but the last two nights it's kept me from sleeping. I've finally took something overnight. I hadn't been doing that at all...I have an appt next week with PCP...I might have to go get a neck MRI. This is nuts, I'm sooo close...I can envision the jump. So tempting to just say FUCK ITTTT!!!!

But I have to get some days off in a row.....and I'm applying for a new job with the state next week... :punchballs: :punchballs: . :banghead: :banghead: :gaah: :gaah: :gaah:

That sucks, Cheeps. It's hard enough ridding ourselves of the ops but doing it when you've got serious/chronic pain issues is just ... well, brutal. I've used Voltaren Emulgel for severe joint pain at times and it is amazingly effective. You rub it on the skin but it's not one of those heating rubs. It's an antiinflammatory that penetrates through the skin into the muscle/joint etc. Might help a little in conjunction with whatever else you use. You've got a will of iron, I don't know what else to say other than you've got to do what you've got to do, whatever that may be. You know so much about this stuff that you must know deep down what the best course for you is. Hopefully it's just a flare-up that will subside quickly.

Lucy....I'd give my crippled butt cheek if it is only a flare up. Maybe it is....I have read in many articles about phone neck or looking down at an iPad. I know this is a factor so I try to hold up devices, use portable tables....not sit too long, and no lying in bed. I have a special table that helps....

I had surgery years ago for a herniated disc and I'm thinking it's got bone spurs or is leaking again. I've ignored it for a year or two no trying to get my hands fixed. Now that I'm reducing the hell out of meds, it's pissed. :( :banghead:

I have to see dr on Monday and I have to get this job I'm chasing. It has employer paid insurance....if I can get this job...then I'll know more about what the damn future holds. If I have to suffer then I just will....but there are still a couple months of instability before I can make desicions.

Going from 325+to 60-70 is a accomplishment....just not the one I wanted. :? I hate it when the waters get murky. :punchballs:

It definitely is a huge accomplishment and sometimes we do have to adjust our expectations of ourselves when we come up against barriers we have no control over. I feel your frustration though. Life can be such a bitch.

It kills me the way things are with health care in your country. Most people in this country just take what we have for granted. I'll avoid going into a rant about politics and what defines a civilized society. It just makes me so fucking mad that someone has to find the right job in order to get proper care, let alone work at all until they're well enough.

I'd never heard of phone and tablet use messing with people's necks before but it makes sense that it would do that, especially if there are problems already. In your work is it possible to avoid lifting patients? I know there are lifting machines these days but no idea whether they're used everywhere and all the time.

I don't have to lift my client much Lucy...and thank stars she is only 110 pounds. I have found a way that works for the both of us....because it hurts her tremendously when you touch her. Her vascular damage includes her nerves and any touch sends her off the charts.

I agree with you on health care rants. I could go on and on but it's this :deadhorse: :deadhorse: :deadhorse: the greed of all things medical from Drs, big pharma, medical supplies, insurance companies...everyone want their damn dollar and we just want access. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :gaah:
