I do have no patience, probably never will. It's a lot of anxiety tho, sometimes when I am talking to someone I can feel my brain thinking 15 different things that all relate like a magnet pulling from all parts of my brain and there's no way to condense it all. It def takes some getting used to, on subs I didn't see those "mental pictures" as much, they were vague/fuzzy, now It's like a video playing at high speed tossing images at me left and right along with the emotions that go with them, it's a lot to process mid-conversation.

This will subside over time...it's just a part of the process. Being on opiates dulls the senses and cause brain fog...you get used to it over the years...so when the brain finally restarts and until the amygdala starts getting used to processing without opies, it makes things seem jumbled, mumbled, and scrambled.

We take all these functions for granted and not until the agitation of the CNS, aka eggbeater beater effect, slows back down do we feel a better sense of rightness. This is where time is the healer and good food and exercise of any kind is important. The brain chemicals and receptors come back into alignment....lots of emotional shit is experienced during this time. You will have to tell yourself that this ISN'T permanent...it's not the real you. Any racing thoughts, depression, panic attacks, weird shit in general...they all get better over time. :banghead: :banghead: In the meantime, try to do creative hobbies or activities and accept this stuff as part of the healing process. Make a rock garden outside....complete with koi pond....practice living in the day. Try not to lean into the future...just accept and do what you can today

Thanks Cheeps, it's great advice and I'm trying to immerse myself in everything I can, not gonna lie it's tough tho. Sometimes I feel great, like pre-drugs great (music helps get there), rest of the time I'm pretty anxious. Legs are slowly getting better, hope it continues. Have a neurology appt in October.

yea legs are getting better at a snails crawl. I had to have oral surgery to remove an infected tooth, with no painkillers obviously. It's total fucking hell, I can barely stand it. I can't rinse, can't smoke, can't do shit but take aspirin which doesn't do a damn thing and sit here. Can't even take my mind off it with TV or video games, hard to sit still. Real shitty day today with this.

Have the dentist or any doctor you have a relationship with call you in Indocin Suppositories. Launch one of those rectal rockets and I promise you the most marked relief without a narcotic. I also notice it has a dramatic effect in calming and even totally shutting down my RLS. It's a wonder drug, at least for me. It's the most potent form of 'Motrin type drug' there is since Toridol. It's pricy without solid Rx coverage but worth it, IMPO.

Hell. Sorry to hear about the tooth. That kind of pain is hard to deal with. There are topical anaesthetics, even clove oil works surprisingly well, that you can get OTC that might help take the edge off.

DietDoc, very interesting to hear you mention indomethacin suppositories being so good for RLS. I always have a box on hand for my headaches, and can also testify to what a great painkiller they are. I wouldn't have even thought of trying them for RLS when it arrives if I hadn't read this.

WEEK 10 (double-digits)

Thanks for the advice guys, I took 3 tylenol followed by 3 motrin, fell asleep and woke up 2 hours later with no pain at all, weirdest thing ever. Hasn't hurt a bit since. Didn't even have to take aspirin today. It's pretty nice when shitty days are followed by good days, I can get used to this. Both the clove oil and indocin were good ideas, luckily I didn't have to use either this time, good to know for next time though.

Day 75

Finally getting some emotional stability, no anger, no short temper, feels great. I'm healed, still some manageable RLS but other than that, I feel pretty much back to normal, like 15 years ago normal.

That's wonderful to hear. I'm very happy for you. After so many years spent in that sub haze it must be so good to be recovered enough to begin enjoying the new found clarity.

I missed the last couple of posts because the forum isn't accurately showing updated threads on the index page. Thought everyone had disappeared only to click on the subsux forum and find new posts.

Thx Lucy, yea it's been pretty quiet lately on here. Good to finally have the energy back, be able to do what I need to at any time, even if it's just a simple task.

WEEK 10

Officially recovered. I've had about 4 days straight of pure bliss, energy, clarity and emotional stability. I'm not so fucking angry anymore and it feels great. I can actually be considerate of others since I don't have to focus on my own stuff 150% of the time. It takes about half the effort to be twice as productive.

That is certainly a great comparison! I had to go read about shawshank as I am movie/tv illiterate and while I've heard that title a gazillion times, I never watched it or knew what it was about.  :gaah:

So, you've turned a big corner...that is EXCELLENT news! :cheers2:

Thx Cheeps and Lucy, this place helped a lot, like a real lot. And you guys played a central part, including PSilver and DietDoc, Dan, SubOptimal, Eyedotz, CheeseAnneDee (no idea how to spell), Don Pisto, etc. Funny how everyone contributes something you remember. This was one hell of a summer.

Over & Out.
