Scared scared scared :?

As the days go on and the memory of the misery of withdrawal begins to fade...you know the script!

What about it?

Some people do well on it...if you get the monthly shot or six month implant it makes you stop obsessing about using, cuz it's pointless to take opiates while on it...
Others say it causes depression by blocking natural endorphins as well as opiates...
Read, google and read some more...I used Antibuse to get off booze a million yrs ago (same basic principle) and it worked wonderful...
CT Cheryl used LDN (Google it) and said it was helpful to jump start her endorphins....
Are you really struggling Beast? If your not prone to depression I'd go for it...Is it easy to get in the UK medical system?

No NOT easy. A pain-in-the-ass but do-able.

Same route as sub and methadone.

Just "came to" in the middle of a 10 minute fantasy about pills,
I was like, eh?
What the fuck??
Scary wary...

At least you're aware and holding yourself accountable!

Keep busy with other things. Anything you can help do to prepare for the grand nugget? If not find a hobby, quick! Or whack it. Whatever.

Rampton, have you read any of the staying clean threads? While there not many, it helps to reread that shit and do it. How much free time do you have? How can that be changed?

I got stuck into the SMART recovery website last night.

It makes good sense. I am going to explore it more.

I hate AA (meetings and a lot of the idiots although some of the basic original teachings I got something from), I went for ten years and didn't get sober until I stopped going.

5 years end of January. I do find opiates more difficult. They call to me a lot more than beer ever did and I was a BAD alkie!

I think I'm expecting too much. I want to stop and say "right! Now I feel fine!"
I know this won't happen, but I think this where my disturbance stems from.

First 6-9 months with the beer I was always just a few inches away from picking one up...now I could hold a glass in my hand all night with NO desire to drink it.

It still is very very early days. I need to chill...a lot!

I stumbled on the SMART website last week too and it just so happens the ONLY meeting in my city thats not in a jail is on the day and time I can go. So....only thing holding me back from trying it is ive been giving another lady a ride to the mon NA meets and I like talking to her.

Let us know what you think if you give it a go k?

Hmmm...yeah.

I have a couple of issues to overcome: the local meeting is held in the drugs unit...you know the one I was prescribed the Subutex from...the one I complained about some of the staff in writing, I walked out mid-treatment never to return lol

And also I have Tourettes...quite POWERFUL Tourettes! :-) It makes sitting in that sort of situation difficult for others AND for me.

IF I muster the confidence and actually GO rather than just read about it, I will defo report back.

My T.S. wasn't as bad years gone by when I went to AA, but when it DID kick off, it didn't go down too well

Oh Beast...I would pay to see that! :D
Fuckem if they can't deal with it. I think most people know what Tourettes is, no? Seems a group of ex-heads should at least be a little tolerant. I tend to think you'd be a welcome relief from the monotony of most meetings.
I guess there are lots of online meeting too...I've never done one, but seen them offered.
I'd love to check out a Smart meeting. We don't have them in Amsterdam.
I did NA for 6 weeks last jump..(April 2013) I think they are fine in early recovery but can't really see making them a lifetime habit. I'm not sure if I'll do it again this jump.
I'm dropping .2 a day and it's catching up with me...but I'm pussy footing it down to .16 tomorrow....

DONT! fuck that. Have you been on meth before? It makes sub WD look like child's play...
Get some lopermide or Kratom if your crawling outta your skin...but stay the fuck away from methadone.
Maybe the naltrexone is a good idea....
Hang in there Hon!

Didn't you just get off the unicorn? Shit yo if you're really really struggling to stay away from everything else maybe you need to get back on very dose sub for a while. You'll have to face this crap all over again at some point though and know that it doesn't get any easier, physically that is. Mentally, depends how fed up you are I suppose.

No problem Beast...I get those crazy thoughts in WD. I start telling myself that I'll never be happy without opiates, but I'm not happy on them. I didn't have to get off methadone, I could have easily stayed on it for life....I've seriously had thoughts of hurting myself just yo get opies...how crazy is that? Uuuggghhh..it's no fun being a addict.
Hang in there...it does get better...really slowly!

Edit...just saw Elluas post. Do you think you could take a super low dose (.5) without going overboard?

Crazy thought # 271...searching all bins behind pharmacies for discarded meds. Also meds patients have brought to be destroyed when the pharmacy is closed so have just dumped them instead.

Crazy? Me??

Crazy thought #711: go to nursing home to visit "grandpa" and rip the fent patch off the first unsuspecting victim.

Crazy thought #999: stop the madness. Endure. Not easily, not quickly, but put an ounce of the effort you put into the crazy schemes into distraction from such instead.
