Hi TD,

I don't know much about Luvox but I do know a little about Zoloft, another SSRI. When discontinuing Zoloft, it's said that taking a 10 mg Prozac can alleviate withdrawal symptoms such as vertigo, dizziness, weakness, etc. (All the fun stuff that we experience with A/D withdrawal). The theory is that due to prozac's long half life, the ride through the first few days (the worst of it imo) is much smoother.

That being said I have to add a disclaimer that this is not the dispension of medical advice, just my experience/opinion as a layperson. Things vary from person to person and seeing a doctor is absolutely prudent when stopping any antidepressent. (It also can make life easier to see a doctor as they can possibly help with w/d symptoms, etc.)

As far as the DX of OCD, perhaps another A/D would be better suited for the condition and could be replaced quickly enough for the OCD symptoms to stay in abeyance from the remaining Luvox?

It's nice to see a familiar name over here. :)

Good question and good luck.

Lisa
